WELL,
when your Hubby
tells you that his
out of town trip has been cancelled
and he is going to send you on
a totally last minute vacation,
you would do cartwheels.
But when you find out where he is really going to send you,
you would do back handsprings!!!
(That is if you are a quilter)
So Hubby told me to pack light
because you are going somewhere really hot
and it is paradise.
Of course,
I thought that I was going to some
beach,
but when he handed me my plane ticket
it said:
"DALLAS".
What????
Nothing against Dallas, but I had my mind set on the beach!
You know...drinks...sand...sun..no Little Person...no dog
not 101 degree hot heat!
Anyway,
he told me that he was going to send me to the
Moda Open House for Shop Owners.
At that point
I was doing back hand springs!
(My inner gymnast was coming out thanks to all of my childhood lessons.)
Yep...that is me standing outside the door taking a picture of myself.
So once the doors opened
and they let all of us inside
into the secret lair for quilters,
my eyes & quilter's heart went into overload...
like the dog on the Beggin' Strip commercial.
Rather than try to describe the quilter's nirvana to you,
I'll just let the photos do the talkin':
The famous warehouse bike that I wanted to ride
but I showed SOME restraint.
These pieced hexies were all the rage at the Open House.
The templates will be showing up in stores soon.
Juli Comstock of Cosmo Cricket gave one of the designer lectures.
She is super cute and it was fun to listen to her journey into the world of fabrics.
I love her Pizza And A Movie quilt made out her Twenty3 fabric line.
Baby Jane is one of my favorite fabric lines. It is available in
my SHOP
The quilts that were on display were AmazeBalls,
but
I noticed that it was all about the chairs:
Kind of like Goldilocks and the Three Bears trying to find the perfect one.
Well if it were up to me
I would have brought this one home with me:
and the ottoman...and the sign...and the embroidery hoops as well!
I did shop...and shop...and plotted a way to get
secretly locked in there without anyone knowing.
These will be showing up soon in my shop:
I tell you there is nothing like filling up a shopping cart with bolts of fabric
...all for yourself...and you guys too!
