Before I post the next tutorial,
I wanted to
give you a glimpse

MIX & MINGLE {A SCRAPPY PRECUT QUILT TUTORIAL}

MIX & MINGLE {A SCRAPPY PRECUT QUILT TUTORIAL}

FINISHED SIZE: 36" x 56"

The Scrappy Precut Quilt Blog Series was designed to help
quilters think outside the box.
It was designed to inspire quilters to use their precut fabrics to create
perfectly scrappy quilts.

The first quilt in the series is rather simple in design.
I wanted to keep the first quilt rather simple in construction
so that we could focus on using entirely different fabric lines
to make a scrappy quilt.

SCRAPPY PRECUT QUILTS {A NEW LLP BLOG SERIES}

I love scrappy quilts!

I love precut fabrics!

In fact, I don't think that I ever met a scrappy quilt that I didn't like.
I don't think that I ever met a precut fabric that I didn't like either.

So, I thought that it would be great to
make great scrappy quilts out of the precut fabrics.

A GLAMPING WE WILL GO QUILT {A FINISHED PROJECT}

So in between hosting family,
taking care of sick loved ones, a program at school,
and unpacking a house,

I was able to finish the
Glamping project that I started over here.

HEARTS A FLUTTER TABLE RUNNER { A CHARM PACK TUTORIAL}

HEARTS A FLUTTER TABLE RUNNER

FINISHED SIZE: 13 1/2" x 49 1/2"

 Valentine's Day is just around the corner
so I created another quick project that can be completed in a weekend.

It is Charm Pack friendly project. For this project I used Flirt by Sandy Gervais.
(It is now available in my SHOP)
 I also used an "old school" method to make the fabric hearts.

Fabric Crush {ABC 123 by American Jane}

I have always been an American Jane fan.
Sandy's newest line, ABC 123,
did not disappoint me!

I love the vintage prints, especially the florals!

Here are some of my favorites:

The red fabric with the white letters is really calling my name!
The ABCs remind me that summer is over
and that we are now in the back to school season.

I love it when fabric lines include black!
It gives a nice contrast.

Now time to decide what to do with all of this yumminess.

Until Next Time...Happy Quilting

Fabric Crush {Simply Color by V and Co for Moda}

Before Spring Quilt Market, Vanessa of V and Co. fame let the
quilting world know that she would be releasing her first line
of quilting fabric, Simply Color.

I held my breath and drooled over my keyboard as I studied her preview
photos.
I knew that I NEEDED it!

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a fat quarter bundle.

After staring at all of the beautiful colors,
I pulled!
I pulled the twill ribbon holding it together and trust me it was
difficult to do because they looked so pretty together!

I pulled out the ones that caught my eye:

The best part about this fabric line is the fact that it has
something for everyone...girls (not too girlie) and boys (not too baby)!
This is important to me because we are all boy around here.

Like I said...I love it when a fabric line has something for me
and my Little Person.

This is my absolute favorite print in the fabric line:

I am drawn to the blue! I would love to make a skirt out of the fabric and pair it with
an awesome white t-shirt. (Now I just need someone to make the skirt for me.)

I Made A Rainbow {With My Moda Candy}

In between swimming

and watching the Olympics,

I was able to finish my Moda Candy quilt top.

When I started piecing all of the

squares together,

it reminded me of

a rainbow.

So here it is,

my rainbow:

I love how all of the different fabric lines

"live together" in harmony

to create the perfect

scrappy quilt.

The quilt top includes the following 2012 Moda fabric lines:

Eat Your Fruits n' Veggies by Pat Sloan
Simply Color by V and Co.
Marmalade by Bonnie & Camille
Harvest Moon by Kansas Troubles Quilters
Fellowship by Brannock & Patek
Independence Trail by Minick & Lauri Simpson
Tapestry by Joanna Figueroa
Everlasting by Sandy Gervais
Spa by Deb Strain
Little Black Dress by Basic Grey
Good Morning! by Me & My Sister
Juggling Summer by Brigitte Heitland
The Ladies Stitching Club by Oliver + S
Birds & Berries by Lauren & Jessi Jung
ABC 123 by Sandy Klop
Old Glory Gatherings by Primitive Gatherings
Windsor Lane by Bunny Hill Designs

Now I just have to sit down

and quilt it!

Wish me luck.

Until Next Time... Happy Quilting!

Moda Candy Quilt {Update}

Everything was going great

with my Moda Candy quilt

until,

I noticed that I had a gap

because I didn't

make enough 4 patches.

I guess that is what happens when you start

sewing without a plan.

I went back to the drawing board

and sewing machine.

School is going to start in 2 weeks

and I know that I will be busy,

so I hope that I will be able

to finish fixing my "boo-boo"!

Until Next Time ...Happy Quilting!

The Work Goes On

Since our summer is rapidly coming to an end,

I have been spending as much

free time on the weekends

with my" Not So Little Person".

We've been watching movies

and playing Super Mario Brothers

in between building "stuff" with Legos.

Luckily

I was able to spend a few moments

in front of my

sewing machine

and

I put this together using my Moda Candy:

I am really loving these Moda Candy squares.

Until Next Time... Happy Quilting!

12 Days of Christmas: A Jelly Roll Challenge

I really love to make and give

hand made gifts,

but Christmas is right around the corner

and my work schedule is pretty tight.

So this week,

I am going to see just how many

quick and simple gifts/projects

I can make out of this:

I will be posting  new projects throughout the week,

so I hope that you will join me.

(BTW-This is my favorite Christmas line of fabric!)

Until Next Time... Happy Quilting!
