FARMER'S WIFE SAMPLER QUILT {WEEK #5}

Yeah!
Another week...
another round of Farmer's Wife Quilt Blocks!

After 5 weeks of Farming,
I think that I have gotten
into
a routine for making these blocks.

Yep...
and this book is getting
a lot of use!

Surprisingly,
cutting out those tiny pieces is my favorite part!
Insane...because I normally
HATE cutting!

This week
I was able to make another 5 blocks.

Block #19: Checkerboard

Lately
I have been seeing
a lot of turquoise, fuchsia, and coral (especially coral) in fashion
and home decor.
I guess that the colors stuck in my head the day that I was
making this block.

Block #21: Contrary Wife

Block #22: Corn & Beans

Block #23: Country Farm

Right now
I am totally into the color navy!
The nautical look is also hot in the world of fashion right now.

But.
I just like the the boldness of navy in general...
kind of like a neutral for me.

So when I made this block
it became my favorite (so far).
In fact...if I had a real life barn, I would paint this very block
(color scheme and all) on the barn.

Block #24 : Country Path

Every week
there is one block in the set
that gives me a fit!

This week...it was #24.

It was the last block that I made this time
so maybe
I was just too tired.

Stats so far:
5 weeks of Farming
23 blocks done...many more to go.

(Last one of my favorite)

  3. WOW!! The blocks are getting more gorgeous! I love the bright colors, they ARE so fitting with the styles right now. They just pop! And I'm so glad navy is making a comeback and finding it's way into fabric lines, it's always been a favorite. :)Thanks for linking up!

  4. 24 may have been a royal pain, but it is a stunning block. You can see so much work has gone into it. I agree with you about the navy, it's very striking.

  5. I know I'm a little late to the party, but I've been looking around the internet for Farmer's Wife pics (my mom is a farmer's wife and I want to make her a quilt). Your fabric choices are seriously beautiful! I think the blocks look so much more amazing with your color choices! Love it!!
