I Made A Rainbow {With My Moda Candy}

In between swimming

and watching the Olympics,

I was able to finish my Moda Candy quilt top.

When I started piecing all of the

squares together,

it reminded me of

a rainbow.

So here it is,

my rainbow:

I love how all of the different fabric lines

"live together" in harmony

to create the perfect

scrappy quilt.

The quilt top includes the following 2012 Moda fabric lines:

Eat Your Fruits n' Veggies by Pat Sloan
Simply Color by V and Co.
Marmalade by Bonnie & Camille
Harvest Moon by Kansas Troubles Quilters
Fellowship by Brannock & Patek
Independence Trail by Minick & Lauri Simpson
Tapestry by Joanna Figueroa
Everlasting by Sandy Gervais
Spa by Deb Strain
Little Black Dress by Basic Grey
Good Morning! by Me & My Sister
Juggling Summer by Brigitte Heitland
The Ladies Stitching Club by Oliver + S
Birds & Berries by Lauren & Jessi Jung
ABC 123 by Sandy Klop
Old Glory Gatherings by Primitive Gatherings
Windsor Lane by Bunny Hill Designs

Now I just have to sit down

and quilt it!

Wish me luck.

Until Next Time... Happy Quilting!

Moda Candy Quilt {Update}

Everything was going great

with my Moda Candy quilt

until,

I noticed that I had a gap

because I didn't

make enough 4 patches.

I guess that is what happens when you start

sewing without a plan.

I went back to the drawing board

and sewing machine.

School is going to start in 2 weeks

and I know that I will be busy,

so I hope that I will be able

to finish fixing my "boo-boo"!

Until Next Time ...Happy Quilting!

INSTAGRAM-ING

I might be the last one to do this

but

I have joined in on the Instagram band wagon!

Instagram is a free app that allows you

take a photo, apply an effect to the photo,

and add them to you Instagram feed.

You can follow others and they can follow you.

You also have the ability to "like" photos

and leave comments.

I love it because it is like

"blogging in an instant".

If you are already IG-ing,

you can find me at:

LilLdyPatchwork

I recently shared this updated photo of

my hexagons:

The Work Goes On

Since our summer is rapidly coming to an end,

I have been spending as much

free time on the weekends

with my" Not So Little Person".

We've been watching movies

and playing Super Mario Brothers

in between building "stuff" with Legos.

Luckily

I was able to spend a few moments

in front of my

sewing machine

and

I put this together using my Moda Candy:

I am really loving these Moda Candy squares.

Making Progress

We finally got rain!

Yes...we are having a drought in Mississippi

and it has been

blazing hot down in the South!

Scarlett O'Hara would find it dreadful :0)

Anyway,
I took advantage of the
"indoor time"
and

worked on a layout for my Moda Candy.

First,

I made a big pile of the 2 1/2" X 2 1/2" squares.

Then I separated them into piles of coordinating colors.

These are photos of the "blue" pile of squares.

Then I did LOTS of pinning

and I mean LOTS!

Finally,
I sewed some of  the squares together:

Sweet Celebrations With Moda Bake Shop

I have a little secret...well it is no longer a secret.

Moda Bake Shop has a new book coming out in October 2012.

was compiled by the awesome

and I am fortunate enough

to be one of the contributors!

This book has something in it for everyone...

not just quilts!

The projects in the book cover all celebrations

using precuts.

(Just a little hint...my projects use jelly rolls and layer cakes)

Can you imagine...

one great "go-to-book" that has something

to make for each special time of the year?

is now available

to pre-order.

Thanks again for letting me share

my little secret with you!

Until Next Time...Happy Quilting!

I'm Finally Did It!

I'm finally did it!

I opened all of my Moda Candy!

I have a total of 19 Moda Candies.

That is a lot of 2 1/2" X 2 1/2" squares!

Now I just have to decide what to do with all of this

yumminess.

I have a few ideas in mind

but I just have to decide which one is my favorite!

My Summer Vacation...So Far

I finally got my computer back on line!

Finally!...And it feels good to be back!

While waiting to get my computer back,

I realized that the summer is half way over for us.

My Little Person's last day of school was May 18th,

so we only have four more weeks left of summer!

In a nutshell, here is how I/we have spent our summer vacation so far.

Stop 1: Legoland, FL

Legos are MAJOR huge at our house,

so this trip to Legoland was like being in heaven for my Little Person.

Ohhhh...and the water park was a bonus!

(More photos from Legoland. Yep....that is me concentrating really hard on

driving the boat!)

Stop 2: Disneyland

Stop 3: Hollywood Studios

Star Wars is also MAJOR huge at our house!

The summer wouldn't be complete without a trip to Hollywood Studios

to attend Star Wars Weekend (AKA the ultimate weekend

to be a Star Wars fan).

We had a lot of fun travelling

but

all roads lead home!

And I am glad to be home!

Now I can get back to some of those

unfinished projects.....

or start new ones!

Until Next Time...Happy Quilting!
